Job Title: Monitoring and Valuation’s Officer

Reporting: Reporting to the Head of Monitoring and Valuations

JOB SUMMARY

The Monitoring and Valuation’s Officer will be responsible for ensuring timely completion of houses within budget. He/ She will be responsible for preparation of Bills of Quantities (BoQs)/ Bills of Materials (BoMs) and site supervision for all Zambian Home Loans (ZHL) funded projects. The person will also be responsible for ensuring that quality is achieved in all construction works and will report all site findings, variations on all funded projects to the Head of Monitoring and Valuations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • The officer will be responsible for preparation of Bills of Quantities/ Bills of Materials.
  • Calculation of simple cost estimates for potential customers.
  • Conducting of site visits before and during the construction process.
  • Site supervision.
  • Monitor site progress and report to the line supervisor.
  • Be able to read and interpret the building plans and guide the sales team.
  • Apply personal skills to manage and resolve site queries.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers were ZHL has MoUs with.
  • Selling ZHL through Monitoring and Valuation’s role.
  • Vetting of competency levels for contractors/ tradesmen on sites.

SKILLS NEEDED

  • Proven work experience in preparation of BoQs, BoMs and cost estimates.
  • Excellent site supervision skills.
  • Good relationship with site team.
  • Good negotiation skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
–       Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Qualification equivalent to a degree in Building Science/ Quantity Surveying/ Construction management or related fields.

–       Must be a full member of Zambia institute of Quantity Surveying, Surveyors Institute of Zambia or Engineers Institute of Zambia.

–       Must have a valid drivers license for a manual vehicle.

–       Minimum of Three (3) year’s relevant experience in a similar role.
