Zambia Centre for Accountancy Studies (ZCAS) was enacted through an Act of Parliament (ZCAS Act No. 1 of 1989) for the purpose of training accountants, promoting research and advancement of learning in accountancy, finance, and related studies, providing advisory and consultancy services, and for related matters.

ZCAS seeks to recruit qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of Business Development Manager.

JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Head of Research, Consultancy, Innovation & Advocacy, the position is responsible for providing marketing and public relations services to the Centre to facilitate sustained student enrolment growth and positive image of the Centre.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Coordinates the development and review of the Centre’s Strategic Plan and other operational plans to provide strategic direction.
2. Prepares the Centre’s Business Development Plan to expand the revenue base and sustain operations.
3. Manages the development and implementation of business initiatives to identify new opportunities and expand the income base.
4. Develops marketing policies, objectives and strategies and market ZCAS products and services to prospective clients effectively.
5. Formulates long term marketing plans and conducts marketing research to assess market demand and customer awareness and compiles market intelligent reports on a quarterly basis.
6. Develops and implements the Centre’s Communication Strategy to guide information dissemination.
7. Manages media engagement to provide information on ZCAS programmes and operations.
8. Promotes the image of ZCAS through proper and innovative branding of the Centre.
9. Manages advertising contracts for electronic and print media to ensure compliance with ZCAS standards.
10. Performs public relations and publicity activities and attends to customer queries.
11. Prepares and manages the marketing and publicity budget.
12. Ensures availability of promotional materials at all times.
13. Drafts advertisements for approval before publication.
14. Plans and coordinates school visitation activities.
15. Prepares and issues approved press releases on important occasions.
16. Maintains a database for ZCAS former graduates.
17. Identifies potential business opportunities from the collective capabilities of staff and capacity of the Institution for approval by the Senior Management Team.
18. Develops and markets new products and services to target market employing most appropriate techniques.
19. Carries out any other business development duties as required by the Centre from time to time.
20. Performs any other duties lawfully assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

1.Grade 12 Certificate with a minimum of five (5) “O” levels including English and Mathematics.
2. Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent.
3. Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent.
4. Minimum of five (5) years’ post qualifying experience in business development, marketing and public relations.
5. Must possess strong marketing, strategic and business planning skills.
6. Must be Computer literate.
7. Must have proof of fully paid-up membership to a relevant Professional body for the year 2024.
