Reports To: Head Broadband Services
Duties
1. Carrying out structured installation of Broadband nodes while maintaining acceptable standards and best practices.
2. Provide first line troubleshooting of broadband related problem on the phone and customer site.
3. Carry out site surveys and producing comprehensive reports of the results.
4. Carry out site survey installation and preventive maintenance on company’s base station equipment and other infrastructure required to provide broadband service.
5. Carry out structured cable networks (LAN) installation and maintenance.
6. Configure customer terminal equipment in accordance with the company best practices.
Skills required
1. Must possess Diploma in Telecoms or Computer Science or IT related qualifications from a recognized institution
2. A working knowledge of Wireless, Optic Fibre, DSL and PLC technologies.
3. Knowledge of basic electrical installation, earthing, troubleshooting and safety standards.
4. A thorough knowledge of structured cabling and civil works in line with prevailing safety standards.
5. Rigging skills and ability to work outdoors and at elevated heights.
6. Preferably N+ certification and City and Guilds technician qualifications
7. Basic understanding of Networking and network devices that comprise Broadband infrastructure.
