The Council of Mulungushi University is an equal-opportunity employer and is hereby inviting qualified and sufficiently motivated individuals to apply for various lecturer positions. In all cases, the job purpose of a lecturer is to teach, carry out student assessments, conduct research and community service. The University is also inviting applications for various technical and administrative positions as below.
1.0 SCHOOL OF MEDICINE AND HEALTH SCIENCES
1. 1 Lecturer – Human Anatomy (1 position)
Required qualifications:
- Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include English Language and Mathematics
- Must have an earned Bachelor of Science in Human Anatomy, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Science in Nursing Sciences or related health science discipline from a reputable and accredited University
- Must have an earned Masters of Science in Human Anatomy from a reputable and accredited University
- Must have functional computer literacy skills
- Must have a minimum of two years teaching experience at University level
- Proof of research and publications will be also an added advantage
- A PhD in Human Anatomy or Nursing Science will equally be an added advantage
- Must be a member of a relevant regulatory body with a valid practicing license
1.2 Lecturer – Human Physiology (1 position)
Required qualifications:
- Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include English Language and Mathematics
- Must have an earned Bachelor of Science in Physiology, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine, Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences, Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy, and Bachelor of Nursing/Nursing Sciences from a reputable and accredited University.
- Must have an earned Master of Science in Human Physiology from a reputable and accredited University
- Must have functional computer literacy skills
- Must have a minimum of two years teaching experience at University level
- Proof of research and publications will also be an added advantage
- A PhD in Physiology will be an added advantage as well
- Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, Professor will be added advantage
- Must be a member of a relevant regulatory body with a valid practicing license
1.3 Lecturer – Pharmacognosy (01 position)
Required qualifications:
- Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include
English Language and Mathematics
- Must have an earned Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from a reputable and accredited University
- Must have an earned Master of Pharmacognosy or related discipline from a reputable and accredited University
- Must have functional computer literacy skills
- Must have a minimum of two years teaching experience at University level
- Proof of research and publications will also be an added advantage
- A PhD in Pharmacognosy will be an added advantage as well
- Must be a member of a relevant regulatory body with a valid practicing license
Laboratory Demonstrator (1 position)
Job purpose: To work in the Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology and Microbiology/Biomedical laboratories.
Required qualifications:
- Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include English Language and Mathematics
- Must have an earned Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences, Physiotherapy or Pharmacy from a reputable and accredited University
- Must have a minimum of two years practical work experience preferably in a higher learning institution
- Must have functional computer literacy skills
- Knowledge in Basic First Aid will be an added advantage
2.0 SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURE AND NATURAL SCIENCES
2.1 Lecturer – Crop Science (1 position)
Required qualifications:
- Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include Mathematics and English Language
- Must have an earned Bachelor of General Agriculture, Sustainable Agriculture and Crop Science from a reputable and accredited University
- Must have an earned Master of General Agriculture, Sustainable Agriculture and Crop Science from a reputable and accredited University
- Must have functional computer literacy skills
- Must have a minimum of two years teaching experience at University level Proof of research and publications will also be an added advantage
- A PhD in General Agriculture, Sustainable Agriculture and Crop Science from a reputable and accredited University will be an added advantage
- Must be a registered member of a relevant regulatory body with a valid practicing license
2.2 Lecturer – Fisheries and Aquaculture (1 position)
Required qualifications:
- Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include Mathematics and English Language
- Must have an earned Bachelor of Aquaculture from a reputable and accredited University
- Must have an earned Master of Aquaculture from a reputable and accredited University
- A PhD in Aquaculture from a reputable and accredited University will be an added advantage
- Must have functional computer literacy skills
- Must have a minimum of two years teaching experience at University level
- Proof of research and publications will also be an added advantage
- Must be a registered member of a relevant regulatory body with a valid practicing license
Laboratory Technician (1 position)
Job purpose: To perform soil sampling, testing, and analysis, carry out student demonstrations and laboratory activities under the guidance of the lecturer and ensuring proper laboratory conduct and adherence to safety procedures.
Required qualifications:
- Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include English Language and Mathematics
- Must have an earned diploma in Laboratory Technology
- A Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology Sciences, or Laboratory Technology from a reputable and accredited University will be an added advantage
- Must have functional computer literacy skills
- Must have a minimum of two years practical work experience preferably in a higher learning institution
- Knowledge in Basic First Aid will be an added advantage
3.0 SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES
Lecturer – Economics (1 position)
Required qualifications:
- Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must
include Mathematics and English Language
- Must have an earned Bachelor of Economics from a reputable and accredited University
- Must have an earned Master of Economics from a reputable and accredited University
- A PhD in Economics from a reputable and accredited University will be an added advantage
- Must have functional computer literacy skills
- Must have a minimum of two years teaching experience at University level
- Proof of research and publications will also be an added advantage
4.0 VICE CHANCELLOR’ DEPARTMENT
Assistant Software Developer (1 position)
Job purpose: To work on the development of in-house software projects that helps in the smooth operations of the University.
Required qualifications:
- Must have a full Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include English Language and Mathematics
- Must have an earned Bachelor of ICT, Computer Science, or IT from a reputable and accredited University will be an added advantage
- Must have two years relevant work experience in a reputable organization
5.0 REGISTAR’S DEPARTMENT
5.1 Management Secretary I (1 position)
Job purpose: To provide high level secretarial and other related services to Principal Officers in order to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the office.
Required qualifications:
- Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits or better that must include English Language
- Must have a Diploma in Secretarial and Office Management from a reputable and accredited College
- Must have a Certificate in Shorthand and Typewriting with speeds of 100/120 wpm in shorthand and 55/65 wpm in typewriting
- Must have a Bachelors in Secretarial and Office Management from a reputable and accredited University will be an added advantage
- Must have a minimum of three years post-qualifying experience in secretarial duties or office management in a busy and reputable organisation at a similar or higher level
- Must have functional computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Must be a fully paid-up member of the Zambia Institute of Secretaries
5.2 Management Secretary III (1 position)
Job purpose: To provide high level secretarial and other related services to Senior Officers in order to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the office.
Required qualifications:
- Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits or better that must include English Language
- Must have a Diploma in Secretarial and Office Management from an accredited and reputable College
- Must have a Certificate in Shorthand and Typewriting with speeds of 80/90 wpm in shorthand and 55/65 wpm in typewriting
- Must have high computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Must have at least three years practical work experience in a reputable organization
- Must be a fully paid-up member of the Zambia Institute of Secretaries
5.3 Security Officer – Operations (1 position)
Job purpose: To protect lives and ensure the University properties are secured from any intrusion, theft, tempering or damage.
Required qualifications:
- Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits that must include English Language
- Must have a Diploma in Law, Conflict Management Studies, or Police and Security Studies from an accredited and reputable college or university
- A Degree in Law or Police and Security Studies from a reputable and accredited University will be an added advantage
- Must have Police or Military training
- Should at least have attained the level of inspector in the Zambia Police
- Must have a minimum of two years’ work experience
- Must have functional computer literacy skills
5.4 Mechanical Fitter (1 position)
Job purpose: To Install, maintain and repair of all mechanical plant and equipment used in the University.
Job sRequired qualifications:
- Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits
- Must have a Craft Certificate in Mechanical fitting from a reputable and accredited Institution
- Must have a minimum of three years’ work experience in a reputable processing factory/industry with exposure to different types of motors
5.5 Plumber (1 position)
Job purpose: To install, repair and maintain plumbing systems to ensure a safe and functional water supply, drainage and sanitation system within the University.
Required qualifications:
- Must have a Grade 12 Certificate with at least five Credits
- Must have a Craft Certificate in Plumbing from a reputable and accredited Institution
- Must have a minimum of two years’ work experience in a reputable organization
5.6 Painter (1 position)
Job purpose: To carry out iinternal and external painting of buildings to the required standard as determine and creation of signage for the University.
Required qualifications:
- Must have a Grade School 12 Certificate with at least five Credits
- Must have a Craft Certificate in Painting from a reputable and accredited Institution
- Must have a minimum of two years’ work experience in a reputable organization
5.7 Driver (2 positions)
Job purpose: To drive University motor vehicles and carry out errands, report faults and keep vehicles clean and neat at all times.
Required qualifications:
- Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five Credits
- Must have a Class C or CE Driver license
- Possession of a Craft Certificate in Mechanics will be an added advantage
- Must have a minimum of two years driving experience in a reputable organization
