POSITION # 1:
ACADEMIC OFFICER – PRIMARY
JOB PURPOSE
The Academic Officer – K–Primary Schools is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of curriculum, instructional leadership, and learner support programs at Woodford School and the K–Primary sections of Rhodes Park School. Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer, this role drives academic performance, teacher development, and curriculum alignment for early years and primary education levels, ensuring compliance with national standards and innovation aligned with the school group’s strategic objectives.
This officer ensures the foundational stages of education are well-resourced, academically sound, and responsive to learner needs, while fostering a supportive learning environment that promotes inclusion, engagement, and holistic development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide strategic leadership for the design, implementation, and monitoring of curriculum and instruction for K–Primary programs across assigned schools.
- Ensure curriculum design reflects national education standards, literacy and numeracy development, and progressive pedagogical methods suitable for early childhood and primary learners.
- Develop academic performance targets and lead efforts to meet or exceed them at the K–Primary levels.
- Participate in cross-functional educational leadership planning, working closely with the CAO and school leadership.
- Guide HODs and Grade Coordinators in the development and implementation of schemes of work, assessments, and interventions.
- Oversee daily academic operations, teaching quality, and curriculum delivery at the K–Primary level across both schools.
- Contribute to the development and review of policies relating to child safeguarding, early learning development, and inclusion.
- Ensure compliance with Ministry of Education requirements and early years’ frameworks
- Lead teacher professional development programs specific to early childhood and primary education
- Liaise regularly with the school Head Teachers and Deputy Heads to harmonise teaching efforts.
- Support parent engagement through academic briefings, workshops, and communication of pupil progress.

- Full Grade 12 certificate with 5 Credit or better;
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Education
- Qualified Teacher registered and licensed with The Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ)

POSITION # 2:
ACADEMIC OFFICER – SECONDARY
JOB PURPOSE
The Academic Officer – Secondary Schools is responsible for driving academic excellence in the secondary education phase across the Rhodes Park Schools Group, with a focus on Ashford Academy and the secondary section of Rhodes Park School. The role encompasses oversight of curriculum design and implementation, teacher development, academic monitoring, examination readiness, and quality assurance in line with both the Zambian and Cambridge curricula.
Reporting directly to the Chief Academic Officer, this officer plays a key role in raising academic standards, strengthening secondary school operations, and ensuring learners are fully prepared for national and international assessments while receiving holistic support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership and guidance for academic planning, curriculum implementation, and instructional strategy across secondary programs.
- Align teaching and learning to the standards of the Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) and Cambridge Assessment International Education.
- Develop and track academic targets and strategic plans for improving secondary school performance.
- Work closely with Heads of Departments (HODs) and Deputy Head Teachers to ensure smooth academic operations.
- Lead academic timetable planning, exam calendar alignment, and subject allocation processes.
- Ensure effective curriculum delivery across key subject areas in both local and international curricula.
- Monitor lesson planning, schemes of work, and assessments for content accuracy, depth, and alignment.
- Coordinate mock exams, internal assessments, and remedial programs
- Conduct classroom observations, academic audits, and teaching effectiveness reviews.
- Develop intervention plans for underperforming departments, teachers, or learner groups.
- Plan and deliver subject-specific and cross-departmental professional development.
- Collaborate with school leadership to implement academic improvement strategies.
- Communicate regularly with parents on academic matters and learner performance.
- Represent the secondary schools in academic board meetings, inspections, and community events.

POSITION # 3:
ACADEMIC OFFICER – ENRICHMENT
JOB PURPOSE
The Academic Officer – Enrichment Programs is responsible for designing, coordinating, and monitoring school-wide enrichment initiatives, inclusion strategies, and learner support services across all schools in the Rhodes Park Schools Group. This includes extra-curricular activities (ECA), gifted and talented programs, remedial learning, special education support, and student wellbeing frameworks.
The role contributes to whole-child development by integrating academic, social-emotional, and behavioral support systems. The officer works closely with school leaders, teachers, and the Educational Development Team to build inclusive, supportive, and innovative school environments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the development of group-wide enrichment strategies that promote academic, creative, athletic, and civic engagement among students.
- Develop and monitor the implementation of inclusion policies and learner support programs.
- Coordinate remedial and extension programs for struggling and advanced learners.
- Support integration of wellbeing, character education, and pastoral care initiatives
- Coordinate scheduling, resource allocation, and delivery of enrichment activities across schools.
- Champion inclusive education practices and work with teachers to accommodate diverse learner needs.
- Develop an annual enrichment calendar for clubs, competitions, and special projects.
- Promote cross-school collaboration in arts, sports, innovation challenges, and academic events.
- Track and report on progress of remedial and extension initiatives.
- Train and support teachers in differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Build capacity of school ECA coordinators, pastoral staff, and learning support assistants
- Liaise with parents, counsellors, and community partners to support learner development.
- Participate in group-wide academic events, planning sessions, and cross-functional projects
