Job Purpose
The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness of the organization's premises to provide a safe, healthy, and pleasant environment for employees, customers, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning Duties
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
Dust and clean furniture, windows, and office equipment.
Clean walls, doors, and other surfaces as required.
Sanitation and Hygiene
Clean and sanitize toilets, washrooms, and kitchen areas.
Refill soap dispensers, tissue paper, and other hygiene supplies.
Ensure proper waste disposal and recycling practices.
Waste Management
Empty waste bins and dispose of garbage appropriately.
Maintain cleanliness around waste collection areas.
Report any sanitation issues to the supervisor.
Maintenance Support
Report damaged equipment, furniture, or facilities.
Assist in arranging furniture and equipment for meetings or events.
Ensure cleaning equipment is properly stored after use.
Safety and Compliance
Follow health and safety procedures while performing duties.
Use cleaning chemicals and equipment responsibly.
Wear protective clothing and equipment when required.
Qualifications
Grade 12 Certificate.
Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and hygiene standards.
Experience
Previous cleaning experience is an added advantage.
Experience in office, commercial, or institutional cleaning is preferred.
