JOB PURPOSE:

You will need a commitment to all these areas to ensure that we fulfil this. We are looking for caring and responsible individuals to join our pastoral team. As part of the pastoral team the Assistant House Parent will support the Houseparent to ensure the well-being and pastoral care of the boarding students. They will ensure that a happy and welcoming environment is provided in which students can thrive and enjoy their boarding experience.
Our House parents act as loco parentis, leading by example and challenging students to be the best versions of themselves each day, always considerate of their boarding companions.
QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING:
The Assistant House Parent must be a licensed teacher, a specialist in Mathematics, not more than 35 years old.
A qualification in Child Protection or Guidance and Counseling would be an added advantage
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous work experience in a similar role
- Ability to work with, care for and supervise young people
- High levels of energy, an even temper and a sense of humour
- Confidence to tackle students who are not adhering to the School rules
- Ability to relate to young people
- Ability and willingness to work in a multi-cultural environment
- Willingness to work unsociable hours
- Ability to be proactive, flexible and reliable
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALITIES
- Committed Christian looking to serve with a vision for Christian Leadership
- Understand and support the Christian ethos of our School, including the spiritual development of the pupils and the school’s role within the community.
- Evidence of working as a team member and leading by example
- Confidence in spoken and written English
