Job Summary:

The temporary Supply Chain advisor will Coordinate supply chain for health commodities in all CRS EpiC3-90 supported facilities. He/ she will work in coordination with Ministry of Health (MoH) provincial, district, health facilities and CHAZ to ensure availability of pharmaceutical and laboratory products under the project.  This role will be responsible for providing technical support to pharmacy and laboratory staff in logistics management of health commodities and update logistics knowledge and skills through commodity management and support mentorships, orientations and on the job trainings. He/she will be involved in the assessment and monitoring of the health commodities in all program sites for quality and building partnerships and networking with stakeholders. This position reports to the Senior Technical Lead.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with PHOs to coordinate supply chain for ARVs, Essential Medicines, HIV test kits and Laboratory commodities in all CRS EpiC3-90 supported faith-based health facilities.
Work with PHOs and DHOs to ensure steady supply of ARVs, Essential Medicines, HIV test kits and Laboratory commodities in all CRS EpiC3-90 supported facilities
Participate in National forecasting and quantification program for ARVs, HIV test kits and EMs
Support PHOs roll out approved electronic logistics information management system (eLMIS) and SmartCare in all the supported faith-based health facilities in the three provinces.
Work with PHOs to provide technical support monitor compliance with standard operation procedures on the logistics management of ARVs, EMs, Lab commodities and HIV test kits in the supported faith-based health facilities.
Work with PHOs to lead the rational use of drugs and lead pharmaco-vigilance services in all CRS-EpiC3-90 supported facilities to achieve desired treatment outcomes.
Coordinating with PHOs mentorship in logistics management of health commodities for health care workers (community posts inclusive)
Work with PHOs in providing mentorship for health care workers in pharmaceutical care provision and regimen documentation in SmartCare system
Coordinate with government departments and implementing partners in building local capacity around eLMIS utilization and assist reporting and resolution of facility eLMIS problems for system enhancement
Work with PHOs to review monthly MER ARV_SC indicator reports from provincial hubs
Work with PHOs to review monthly MER HTS_SELF indicator reports from provincial hubs
Work with PHOs to review SmartCare non-standard ARV dispensations and facility late for pharmacy reports
Work with PHOs to prepare logistics district review meetings and training budgets.
Prepare presentations and participate in GHSC/MOH monthly supply chain update meetings
Assist provincial hub coordinators prepare supply chain presentations and participate in monthly provincial CoAG meetings
Participate in weekly Command Centre meetings
Participate actively in the development/revisions of project strategies for improving activity performance
Facilitate dialogue with implementing partners to ensure mutual relationships and cooperation that enhances project programs
Perform other duties that may be assigned by the project’s hierarchy.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree
Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in health supply chain logistics Pharmaceutical and health products management or similar capacity.
Mastery of eLMIS and logistics management information systems is highly required
Strong analytical skills in forecasting and quantification
Ability to multi-task efficiently and prioritize activities in support of Project goals and deadlines.
Proficient in MS Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and information management systems.
Experience in conducting user orientation on health information systems (SmartCare)
Registered with Health Professions Council of Zambia.

Required Languages – English
