Reports to: Manager Philanthropy Development and Operations

Under the general supervision of the Manager Philanthropy Development and Operations, the Loop Officer will be responsible for promoting the LOOP platform in Zambia.

Main duties

Specifically, the Loop Officer will:

1. Design and implement Loop activities in collaboration with the existing Loop Officer

2. Assist with designing of strategic interventions to promote Loop in collaboration with the ICT and Communications team and the Loop global team

3. Work in collaboration with partner organisations to ensure communications, Loop generated knowledge and learning, engagement with organisations and citizens and ICT are aligned and help advance the Loop platform

4  Assist with attracting interest in Loop in exchange for a service fee amongst INGOs and other international organisations

5. Help expand and nurture working relationships with organisations in the public sector and social sector (CSOs, legal aid, etc) relevant to the wellbeing of children, youth, and older people

6. Help develop a community of practice for people supporting feedback systems, accountability, civic engagement, open data systems and the use of technology to reduce the digital divide

7. Service the Advisory Steering Committee

8. Manage and ensure a positive experience for people already using Loop

9. Assist with the moderation of all stories in a timely, effective way as per policies and guidelines

10. Work with the team and in coordination with the Loop Case Manager, to ensure people submitting feedback or complaints have a safe and productive experience

11. Assist with documenting and sharing learning internally and with all partner organisations involved

12.  Contribute to background research in support of funding proposals

13. Contribute to ZGF’s regular communication platforms through background research and drafting Loop relevant features

14. Ensure a safe and productive experience for people submitting complaints of sexual exploitation and abuse and sexual harassment reports

15. Liaise, document and share learning internally and with all partner organisations involved

16. Keep abreast of developments in the area of speciality and adhere to the ethics code

17. Provide accurate information required for performance management purposes and attend performance management discussions and for overall organisational growth

18. Perform any other related duties that the supervisor may reasonably request from time to time

Education and training: Minimum bachelor’s degree and five years of experience or master’s degree and two years of relevant work experience in development studies, project management, M&E, governance, public policy, gender studies, knowledge management, communications, political science, social works, economics or equivalent

Decision-making: All decisions are within broadly defined guidelines, procedures, and processes. May have some limited discretion in making operational decisions

Responsibility for resources

  • No supervisory responsibility except when working in specialised task teams dealing with communication, outreach, and ICT related activities
  • Managing resources: has direct responsibility for office equipment assigned to the job

Representation

  • Internal contacts:  Interacts directly with other staff members
  • External contacts: Partner organisations within and outside Zambia

Physical environment: Office environment and constant use of computer and some travel.
