CHITAMBO DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION-(CHDF)

Chitambo Development Foundation (CHDF) is a community‑based, non‑profit, non‑political, and non‑religious organisation established to address the social, economic and environmental challenges facing rural communities in Zambia. CHDF was founded on the belief that sustainable development works best when communities are empowered to identify problems and lead solutions. It currently operates in the Chitambo District of Central Province with a long‑term vision to grow its impact into neighbouring areas.

The Foundation works closely with local people to promote inclusive, grassroots‑driven development focused on agriculture, education, health, livelihoods, environment, natural resource management and tourism. CHDF prioritises participation, resilience and sustainability, especially for women, youth, children, and other marginalised groups. Through community‑led programmes and partnerships, CHDF seeks to uplift disadvantaged rural households and contribute to meaningful, locally‑owned development outcomes.
