About Us
Jigsaw Education Zambia purpose
Jigsaw Education Zambia exists to build evidence for education. We help NGOs, governments and international organisations enhance education outcomes through applied research, evaluation, strategy and technical assistance.
Everything we do is focused on using rigorous evidence for lasting change within education in low and middle income countries.
How we build evidence
We have four main approaches to build evidence for lasting change in education:
- Research - Building interventions and policies on the basis of what is known, addressing evidence gaps, designing on the basis of what works in different contexts
- Evaluation - Learn throughout a programme, embedded reflection, design for adaptation, share learning widely for the benefit of the sector
- Strategy - Take what is known and apply it to the practical world of decision making on programmes and budgets - choosing what to do in order to have most impact in a scalable and sustainable way
- Technical Assistance - Short term advice about education provided by Jigsaw to other organisations, based on evidence and aligned with our technical expertise
Jigsaw Education Zambia technical priorities
Education is a vast and complex sector, and contributing meaningfully to its evidence base requires a profound commitment to continuous learning and strategic focus. In our pursuit of excellence, and to ensure our work has the greatest possible value, we have chosen to concentrate on specific technical priorities. This approach allows us to cultivate deep expertise and achieve an outsized impact where it matters most. Our work building evidence for education is therefore guided by four core technical priorities:
- Refugee education
- Technology in education
- Girls’ education
- Education, climate and environment
Our values
We try our best to live by eight values. We enjoy talking with people about how these values guide our decision making - please ask us. Also, if you engage with Jigsaw and we don’t match up to our values, then please tell us - we appreciate feedback and are committed to improving all the time.
