JOB BRIEF

PeopleFirst HR Consultancy is seeking a motivated, confident and results-driven Business Development Officer to help grow our client base and generate new business opportunities.

This is a commission-based opportunity, making it ideal for an individual who is entrepreneurial, enjoys networking and sales, and is confident approaching businesses and decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

The Business Development Officer will be responsible for:

Client Acquisition

Identify and approach potential clients who require HR consultancy services.

Build and maintain a database of prospective clients.

Contact CEOs, HR Managers, business owners and other decision-makers.

Arrange meetings and present PeopleFirst HR Consultancy's services.

Business Generation

Actively source new business through networking, referrals, social media, telephone calls, emails and direct approaches.

Identify opportunities among SMEs, start-ups, NGOs and corporate organisations.

Convert leads into paying clients.

Sales & Proposals

Understand clients' HR needs and recommend appropriate services.

Prepare and follow up on proposals and quotations.

Negotiate with clients within approved company guidelines.

Ensure that client commitments and pricing are approved by management.

Client Relationship Management

Build strong, professional relationships with clients.

Follow up after services are provided to generate repeat business and referrals.

Maintain a professional image of PeopleFirst HR Consultancy.

Reporting

Maintain an updated sales/lead pipeline.

Submit weekly and monthly business development reports.

Report on leads, meetings, proposals, clients secured and revenue generated.

Commission Arrangement

This is a commission-based role because PeopleFirst HR Consultancy is a start-up.

Commission is earned on successfully secured and paid-for business.

The commission percentage will be agreed separately in the commission/engagement agreement.

A lead or proposal alone does not qualify for commission.

Commission will be paid according to the agreed payment terms after the client has paid the company.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Performance will primarily be measured by:

Number of qualified leads generated.

Number of client meetings secured.

Number of proposals submitted.

Number of new clients acquired.

Value of business generated.

Revenue collected from clients.

Conversion of leads into paying clients.

Repeat business and referrals.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Business Development or a related field.

At least 2 years' experience in sales, business development, recruitment, HR consultancy or a related area is an advantage.

A strong existing business network and proven ability to generate clients will be highly valuable.
