Zambia Postal Services Corporation (ZamPost) is the national postal provider. The Corporation exists under the revised Postal Services Act of 2009. The Corporation is inviting suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions in the Finance Department:-
ACCOUNTANT CREDITORS (PAYABLES)
GRADE: P7
Job Role
The Accountant Creditors (Payables) will be responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical support to the Corporation. The role will be responsible for completion of payments and control expenses by receiving payments processing, verifying and reconciling invoices as well as manage the day to day payment cycle activities in a timely and efficient manner.
Grade and Station
The position is at Grade P7. The work station is ZamPost headquarters, Ndola.
Reporting Line
The Accountant Creditors (Payables) reports to the Financial Accountant Finance.
Statement of Key Responsibilities
The main duties of the Accountant Creditors (Payables) include the following:
- Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, purchase orders, invoices, statements etc.
- Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
- Maintaining historical records.
- Paying employees by verifying expense reports and preparing pay checks.
- Paying vendors by scheduling pay checks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit; generally responding to all vendor enquiries regarding finance.
- Preparing analysis of accounts and producing monthly reports.
- Continuing to improve the payment process.
Personal Attributes
The ideal candidate must possess the following attributes:
- A high level of personal organisation to ensure timely and accurate reports.
- Paying attention to detail.
- A high standard of personal integrity.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable university in Accounting / Finance or full ZICA with stage 2 qualification in CIMA or ACCA.
- A minimum of 3 years’ post qualifying experience in accounting or audting from a reputable organisation.
- Aged between 30 and 45 years.
- Membership to the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) or ACCA.
