AMREF-Zambia is inviting applications from suitably qualified, motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic individuals to fill the vacant under the following position on Fixed Term Contract in its Zambia Country Office:

1 x Project Driver/Logistics Assistant (Ndola)

Basic function of the Job:

The incumbent will be responsible for driving, maintenance and all motor vehicle related issues. They will ensure a clean working environment for Amref Health offices through ensuring by ensuring that a good standard of cleaning is delivered and meeting staff expectations. The Incumbent will report to the Project Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities;

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:

  1. Drive technical & support staff to and from office and project sites, airport pick-ups and droppings of staff and volunteers.
  2. Conduct daily vehicle Maintenance including checking oil, water, tyres, battery electrolyte levels and conduct weekly vehicle maintenance e.g, checking wheel nuts, cleaning, greasing, battery terminals
  3. Maintain use of Vehicle Log books at all times.
  4. Report to the Administrative officer about general vehicle condition and any routine maintenance and damage requiring workshop attention.
  5. Assist with handling  project financial transactions on need basis
  6. Conduct delivery of mail to respective recipients, within and outside the Office, taking and delivering messages, assist the procurement of items and run office errands
  7. Assist with procurement of office supplies, stationery and sundries

Qualifications, experience and key competencies required:

  1. Completion of Secondary School Education.
  2. Possession of a Certificate in Office Administration is an added advantage
  3. Minimum of 2 years driving / clerical experience in a busy organization, preferably NGO
  4. Mature individual, not less than 30 years old
  5. A clean driving license
  6. Good command of English
  7. Able to do minor vehicle maintenance
  8. Able to work at odd hours
  9. Sober Habits
