Position Overview
The IT Manager supervises the IT Team and manages the Business IT Processes, IT risks, IT Support
and ensuring business continuity.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Roles
- Recruitment and Supervision of IT Team
- Identify IT risks and implement IT risks mitigation processes
- Coordinate the maintenance of IT Systems
- Oversee the execution of IT support to staff and external partners
- Implement new IT Processes and Oversee the implementation of existing processes
- Coordinate system changes with group software development team
- Requirements gathering and analysis on system integrations
- Coordinate integrations and testing with third parties and software development team
Data Administration
- Managing data sources i.e. system databases, systems data and staff data
- Preparing DB queries and reports for staff and partners
- Prepare and manage the Management Information Systems (MIS)
- Managing data management policies
- Implementing security measures for company data
- Infrastructure and Network Management
- Manage a team that maintains the company’s core network and servers
- Core systems administration
Testing
- Managing a team that handles tests for the following:
- SMS and USSD Aggregation
- EVD Integration testing
- Mobile banking integrations
- Merchant Payments integrations
- Deposits and withdrawals integrations
- 543 Pay integrations
- System enhancements by the development team
Banks and corporate customer’s support
- Assist the company’s banking partners with support for:
- Mobile banking services IT support
- SMS aggregation services
- USSD aggregation services
- Merchant payments services
- As well as above, any other duties given by management
Accountability and Performance Measures
- Accountable for IT Team Performance
- Accountable for Systems Performance
- Efficiency of IT Support System
- Effective execution of IT policies
- Adherence to agreed system uptimes of company IT systems
- Maintenance of sufficient support levels for both banking partners, customers and fellowstaff members
- Accountable for system integrations i.e.
- Pace of integrations
- Stable integrations
- Adherence to agreed system uptimes of company IT systems
- Performance of databases and other data sources
Organizational Alignment
- Reports directly to the managing director
- IT team reports to the IT Manager
Qualifications
- Minimum five years’ experience in IT support role
- Minimum 3 years hands on Mysql experience post qualification will be handy
- Minimum 3 years Linux experience post qualification
- Computer science degree or equivalent
- Experience in an IT Telco, Fintech and Banking environment is a requirement
- Software development skills will be handy
