Finance Manager job description
We are looking to hire a dynamic Finance Manager with excellent organizational and analytical skills. The Finance Manager is expected to be detail-oriented, knowledgeable on statistics, have strong problem-solving skills, and an investigative nature.
To ensure success, the Finance Manager should have a deep commercial awareness, strong numeracy skills, and a keen interest in the growth, efficiency, and profitability of the organization. Top candidates will have outstanding communication and report writing skills with superb technical ability and fantastic negotiation skill.
Responsibilities
- Perform financial management duties including generating financial data, compiling and submitting reports, analysing industry trends and assessing the financial health of the organization.
- Oversee the operations and development of the organization’s finance departments including creating and reviewing policies, budgeting, recruiting, training and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures.
- Advise colleagues and executive management on decisions related to the organization’s finances.
- Supervise the documentation of the organization’s financial status and forecasts.
- Plan and implement systems for financial operations in the organization in accordance with the finance manual and donor regulations; including systems for cash flow management, budgeting, consolidation of accounting information, internal controls, financial reporting, financial record-keeping, grant management and compliance.
- Prepare monthly management reports to senior management and program staff as required, including expenditures by cost center/project and other financial information, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare financial reports, for review by senior management, to donors in line with donor requirements and templates.
- Assist in developing annual fiscal year budgets together with the Finance Officer and Admin Officer.
- Continuously stay abreast with donor policies, procedures, rules and regulations; compile and update applicable local policies; train the organization staff in these policies.
- Other duties as assigned by CITAMplus leadership
Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
- Full professional qualification such as CA Zambia/CIMA/ ACCA.
- Must be a registered member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
- Minimum of three (5) years’ relevant post qualification experience, working in a busy finance and accounting environment.
- Must possess practical skills in management and financial reporting.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Planning and organizational skills.
- Teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.
- Risk management skills.
- Proven results-oriented attitude.
- Very good understanding and experience of financial products and performance, including credit risk, dynamics of lending, saving and insurance would be beneficial
- Experience using financial software
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Experience in Working with NGOs.
