Name of Position: Project coordinator – Art beyond Schools project

Term of engagement: 1 Year subject to extension based on performance

Job Location: Livingstone District with (40%) Travelling to Kazungula District.

Reporting: Direct report to Project Lead

Program Summary: CTYA is looking for a Project Coordinator for its Art Beyond Schools (ABS) Project. The aim of the project is to work with 10 rural and peri-urban schools and 12 healthcare facilities in Livingstone and Kazungula Districts of Southern province to improve mental health outcomes for adolescents and youth, using therapeutic art to reduce the unmet need for mental health services for adolescents and young people at the community and District level.

About CTYA: CTYA is one of the leading Adolescent and youth-focused Zambian NGOs that is supporting efforts to strengthen community-based sexual and reproductive health and Mental Health programs in Zambia, we do this by working at all levels of the Zambian Health system, taking a lead role in supporting MOH efforts in making the health systems adolescent and young responsive.  CTYA head office is located at Musio-Tunya Building Suite 501, Along Lusaka Road Livingstone.

About the role: The Project Coordinator shall be responsible for Coordinating and managing ABS project activity implementation. Support the project lead develop project research proposals, and project work plans and writing external facing technical documents such as reports. Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following

  • Develop a project work plan
  • Support with technical advice as regards adolescent and youth mental health
  • Develop a project coverage map
  • Support with developing project-study protocols/SOPs
  • Support with writing high-level external-facing documents e.g., Abstracts, Project reports etc
  • Documenting ABS project activities through videos/pictures etc

Qualifications and Experience

  • Knowledge and experience in social research especially mental health will be an added advantage.
  • Track record of managing and coordinating mental health projects/activities.
  • University, graduate in Psychology, Mental Health, Public health, social sciences, or related field.
  • Interested in health systems strengthening, Mental Health, global health, health technology, digital communication, or social media
  • Desire to be a leader; accountability, passion, good character, integrity, ability to deliver tasks with minimal supervision, organizing skills, team player and willingness to learn and adapt.
