We are looking for a Quality and Safety System Controller

In this position, you will be reporting to the Quality Manager. You will be responsible for ensuring that the requirements of ISO 22000 food safety management system and Safety are maintained.

Among other responsibilities, you are expected to:

  • Management of ISO 22000 food safety system and HACCP
  • Document control
  • Coordinating internal audits
  • Writing procedures relating to FSMS
  • Administrating of corrective and preventative actions
  • Ensuring that all customer complaints and necessary laboratory investigations are logged and closed.
  • Attend monthly food safety and quality meetings and prepare minutes
  • Assist in arranging for annual food safety training and food safety induction training for new staff
  • Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health.
  • Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
  • Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting. .
  • Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented. .
  • Establish a full programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits and checks
  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.

If you have the following:

  • Full Grade twelve certificate
  • Degree in Food Science and Technology or equivalent
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in the Food and Manufacturing Industry
  • Certificate in ISO 22000 Food safety management and HACCP is an added advantage
  • Diploma /certificate in occupation health and safety
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the admin of Quality and Food Safety Management Systems
  • Computer Literacy ( i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Supervisory skills
  • Proven good communication skills
