POSITION DESCRIPTION

One Acre Fund is currently hiring for the full-time position of Logistics Associate in Kabwe. This will be a warehouse-based role and we are seeking two (2) enthusiastic professionals dedicated to providing outstanding execution and rigor to our logistics operations. Distribution is fundamental to the core model of One Acre Fund, and the logistics team works specifically to enable this cutting-edge, cost-efficient, and professional rural delivery system. The Logistics Associate will be an integral part of the team that delivers thousands of kilograms of life-changing goods each year directly to thousands of farm families across Zambia.

The Logistics Associate will report to the Logistics Manager.

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Execution of Warehouse activities – Stack & store products, maintain cleanliness and report warehouse activities. The warehouse associate will take responsibility for the look and organization of the warehouse at all times.
  • Accurate Inventory tracking – Execute inventory movements, record movements accurately, and conduct stock counts. The warehouse associate will take responsibility for any missing inventory.
  • Maintain the safety and security of inputs stored in the warehouse – Ensure safety of inputs, infrastructure integrity, and the quality of inputs. The warehouse associate will take responsibility for timely reporting risks to input safety.
  • Execute Input Reception and Distribution – The warehouse associate will take responsibility for accurate and timely execution of the delivery schedule.
  • Manage warehouse staff – Manage and supervise permanent, temporary and casual staff conducting activities in the warehouse. The warehouse associate will take responsibility for the performance of the warehouse staff.
  • Comply with policies and processes – Compliance with the organization’s processes, policies and systems and Zambian regulations. The warehouse associate will take responsibility for any breach in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and processes
  • Planning for growth – Working with the logistics team to plan for future season growth in warehousing, inventory management, and deliveries

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 School Certificate – A Diploma in business is preferred
  • Strong mental math skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Leadership  / People Management experience
  • Integrity – Logistics Associate will bear personal responsibility for inputs in the warehouse
  • Positive attitude – Open to feedback from supervisors
  • Experience in warehouse or stock management a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel a plus

Compensation:  K 2,855 per month (including lunch, transport, airtime and housing allowance)
