VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Corporation seeks to recruit qualified and experienced Zambians to the following positions:

PROGRAMME DIRECTOR (02 VACANCY)

Job Purpose:

To direct studio based television programmes and outside broadcasts

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participates in pre-production meetings
  • Visits location sites or undertakes a recce and develop comprehensive floor plans for coverage i.e plotting of camera position at location site
  • Draws up diagram outlying camera position and locations for microphone mounting
  • Interprets scripts, rehearse casts and establishes pace of programme to stay within time requirements
  • Informs technicians of scenery, lights, props, and other equipment desired
  • Plans and directs audio and video aspects of television programmes based on programmes specifications and knowledge of television techniques
  • Issues instructions to technicians and production crew from control room during telecasts to keep them informed of effects required
  • Directs programmes for live broadcasts or electronic video recordings
  • Operates the video switcher equipment which is interconnected to Video Tape Room, character generator (CG) and video cameras
  • Supervises and direct activities of a crew involved in a production and coproduces and produces productions occasionally.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

Applicants must have the following:

  • Grade 12 School Certificate or GCE with minimum five subjects grade credit or better
  • Diploma in film Journalism or Creative Arts or related field from a recognised institution
  • 5 years experience in television productions
  • Thorough knowledge of production techniques
  • Knowledge of camera handling
  • Able to write and interpret a production script
  • Must have skills in editing
  • Must posses leadership and supervisory skills
  • Must be a team player and have high level of integrity
