The Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) is a statutory institution owned by the two Governments of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Zambia on a 50/50 shareholding basis. Incorporated by the Acts of Parliament ofthe two contracting states, the Authority’s registered office is in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with two regional administrative centres in Mpika, Zambia and Dar es Salaam.

Some positions have fallen vacant and, in this regard, applications are invited from suitably qualified Zambians,  as follows.

Job Title: Senior Human Resources Officer – 4 Positions
Reporting to: Head of Human Resources
Duty Station: Mpika, Kapiri Mposhi and Kasama

Job Summary

Main Duties

The Senior Human Resources Officer coordinates administrative functions, including recruitments and  separations, pensions and benefits, staff welfare and all matters relatin to human resources.

1. Analyses statistics on labour movement in order to identify trends, problem areas and compiles reports for decision makers;
2. Scrutinizes requests for acting, promotions, transfers, recruitment and separations to ensure policy and procedures are adhered to;
3. Reviews and follows up staff development plans;
4. Prepares separation benefits;
5. Resolves matters pertaining to disciplinary cases;
6. Interprets and ensures compliance with the Labour Laws;  and
7. Prepares monthly reports highlighting employment  statistics.

Qualifications

1. Grade Twelve (12) Certificate
2. Degree in Human Resources Management/Public
3. Administration or any Social Science
4. Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resources Management
5. Three years’ experience at officer level
6. Not more than 45 years old
