The Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) is a statutory institution owned by the two Governments of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Zambia on a 50/50 shareholding basis. Incorporated by the Acts of Parliament ofthe two contracting states, the Authority’s registered office is in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with two regional administrative centres in Mpika, Zambia and Dar es Salaam.

Job Title: Senior Planning Officer (Strategic)
Reporting to: Manager – Planning & Corporate Affairs
Duty Station: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Job Summary
Main Duties The Senior Planning Officer (Strategic) prepares, implements and monitors corporate plans in order to achieve short and long-term Authority objectives for business expansion and growth.
a) Determines medium and long term transport demands for the authority in order to initiate effective corporate plans to satisfy customer needs;
b) Identifies operational bottlenecks and recommends remedial measures to enhance overall traffic
performance;
c) Prepares periodic performance reports on the implementation status of strategic plans, and recommends appropriate reviews to ensure that actual performance matches the set targets;
Qualifications
- Grade 12 School Certificate
- A Degree in Economics
- Three years experience at officer level
- Registered member of the Economic Association of Zambia
- Not more than 45 years old
