Examinations Council of Zambia

The Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) was established by an Act of Parliament No. 15 of 1983, Chapter 137 of the Laws of the Republic of Zambia to set and conduct Examinations and award Certificates to successful candidates. The vision of the Council is to be an examining body of excellence.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacant position in the Administration Department.

SENIOR RECORDS OFFICER – CHIPATA SERVICE CENTRE (1), GRADE ECZ3

Reporting to the Service Centre Manager- Lusaka, the Senior Records Officer will keep custody of academic and professional results for all examinations in order to effectively and efficiently serve the public.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Confirms (verify) Grade 7, 9, 12 and Teacher Education certificates and Statement of Results;
  • Facilitates the verification of details on lost or damaged certificates or statement of results;
  • Ensures that all post- examinations queries are handled promptly and satisfactorily;
  • Facilitates the determination of equivalencies of foreign qualifications into Zambian standards;
  • Facilitates the renewal of private examination centres;
  • Draws up and executes the Service Centre annual workplan;
  • Submits monthly reports;
  • Develops filing systems, classification schemes and undertakes records surveys;
  • Sets up, reviews, documents records systems;
  • Responds to information enquiries, gives appropriate access to information;
  • Preserves corporate memory and heritage;
  • Maintains detailed records and files;
  • Ensures that clients are efficiently and diligently served;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • School Certificate or its equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in education
  • Minimum of 1 year relevant work experience such as records management.

OTHER ATTRIBUTES AND SKILLS

  • Must exhibit high level of confidentiality and integrity
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Must be computer literate
