Your tasks and responsibilities as a Driver

  • Drive vehicle/s for official travel and business, or as requested by management
  • Maintain high standard of service to both internal and external guests
  • Ensure punctuality and safe transport
  • Observe the road traffic laws and Zambian regulations strictly
  • Ensure that safe driving practices are adhered to including local driving codes and internally agreed standards.
  • Ensure vehicles are kept clean, tidy and in good working condition at all times
  • Ensure vehicles are always kept secure and parked safely
  • Ensure vehicle is given regular/day-to-day maintenance checks: check oil, water, battery, brakes, tyres, etc.
  • Record all vehicle operations, maintenance, expenses, mileage after use of any vehicle assigned to you
  • Assist the Administration Manager to ensure vehicle insurance and registration is updated according to schedule
  • Log all trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, etc,
  • Shall not carry any unauthorized passengers or goods
  • Perform all errands and fulfil all assignments
  • Represent SolidarMed by maintaining the highest standard of smartness

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Grade twelve school certificate
  • Defensive driving certificate
  • At least five (5) years of driving experience
  • Experience working with government or NGOs
  • Knowledge in vehicle mechanics
  • Experience driving a manual 4×4 (essential)
