Weaverbird Technology Services Limited is a solar energy company operating in both the public and private sectors, bringing the advantages of solar energy to commercial and industrial clients, non profit organizations, schools, household and government agencies. We also deal in the wholesale of the widest range of premium solar products such as solar panels, inverters, solar batteries, solar CCTV cameras, solar lights, portable solar power station, solar geysers etc.

We are currently looking for a SOLAR CHIEF TECHNICAL OFFICER. The main responsibilities are: This candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all engineering and technical(non-IT) activities, to ensure we have the right products and they are all in good working condition, to train the field and office staff on new products and best practice and to run pilots on new products and accessories.

MAIN DUTIES /RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and run market tests on new products (including components and accessories) that can meet the customers’ energy needs and functional requirements.
  • Design PV systems using licensed software or MS Excel spreadsheet , such as PVsyst, HelioScope, Homer Pro
  • Configure PV systems based on site conditions and customers’ needs and expectations;
  • Conduct load analysis from customers through site visits
  • Work with global team on equipment sourcing and other duties that may arise.
  • Develop standard procedures and quality or safety standards for installation and repairs
  • Provide technical direction or support to installation and repair teams during installation, testing, system commissioning, repairs or performance monitoring
  • Develop and implement a train-the-trainer program for technical installations and repairs
  • Develop a technical problem resolution and escalation process
  • Provide support to the Customer Care Agents in troubleshooting technical issues

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications:  Degree in Electrical Engineering, Solar Engineering or a related degree.

Experience: 

  • Proved projects experiences (50KVW and above)
  • 10 years+ experience in solar industry
  • Valid driving license
  • Capacity to train others
  • Ability and willingness to travel for field visits is critical and to work on-call during off shift hours
