Position Overview:
This role is dedicated to designing and managing programs that support Artisanal and Small-Scale Miners (ASM) in their transition to the formal sector. The managers will work directly with mining communities to overcome barriers to formalization, focusing on the copper, cobalt, manganese, and emerald and other mineral sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, and implement programs that address key barriers to ASM formalization, including legal awareness, access to finance, and technical skills.
- Manage field staff and community engagement activities to ensure program delivery meets the needs of target beneficiaries.
- Develop training materials and facilitate workshops for ASM operators on legal compliance, business development, and safe mining practices.
- Collaborate with the MEL Officer to monitor program outcomes, track impact, and prepare donor reports.
- Liaise with the Ministries and other institutions to streamline formalization pathways for miners.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree in Community Development, Business Administration, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably with a focus on livelihoods, enterprise development, or the ASM sector.
- Practical experience working with communities in Zambia's mining provinces.
- Strong project management, budgeting, and reporting skills.
