POSITION OVERVIEW
The Sales & Marketing Travel Agent is responsible for promoting and selling the company’s travel products and services while delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves managing client inquiries, developing marketing initiatives, converting leads into confirmed bookings, and helping the company achieve its sales targets. The ideal candidate is motivated, professional, customer-focused, and passionate about marketing and the travel industry.
Sales responsibilities
- Consult with clients: Listen to customer preferences, needs, and budget to provide expert recommendations and customized travel packages.
- Generate and close sales: Actively source for clients for flights, accommodations, tours, and car rentals.
- Cultivate client relationships: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients to foster repeat business and referrals. Develop a customer management system to track client information and communications.
- Manage bookings: Handle travel reservations, including ensuring payments are done on time and managing itineraries.
- Provide customer support: Address and resolve any issues or emergencies that arise during the travel planning process or while the client is on their trip.
- Stay informed: Keep up-to-date with travel industry trends, new destinations, supplier promotions, and important travel requirements, such as passports and visas.
Marketing responsibilities
- Assist in Developing marketing strategies: Help plan annual marketing strategies and campaigns to attract potential customers and increase bookings.
- Manage digital marketing: Oversee the agency's online presence, including managing social media accounts and assisting in creating engaging content (like blog posts and videos).
- Analyze performance: Track and report on the success of marketing campaigns using performance metrics. Adjust strategies based on data insights.
- Assist in Planning marketing materials: Produce high-quality promotional materials, such as brochures, newsletters, and email campaigns, to promote travel offerings for the year.
- Monitor branding: Ensure consistent and clear branding across all marketing channels and materials to build brand identity.
- Source for Industry events: Research on industry events both locally, regionally and globally such as promotional events, trade shows, and other initiatives to engage with potential clients and industry partners.
- Conduct market research: Analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and customer behavior to inform marketing and sales strategies.
Administration and Operational Duties
- Maintain accurate booking records, invoices, confirmations, and receipts.
- Update customer profiles and booking logs in company systems or develop tracking tools.
- Assist in preparing financial or sales reports and weekly/monthly performance summaries.
- Coordinate with airlines, hotels, tour operators, and suppliers to finalize arrangements.
- Ensure all travel documents (invoices, vouchers, confirmations, etc.) are correctly issued and delivered.
- Support visa applications and document processing for clients when required.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to process improvement discussions.
- Assist with front office duties such as answering phones and welcoming clients.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, typing, photocopying, data entry, and record keeping.
