Provincial Mentor
Marie Stopes Zambia (MSZ) is a leading provider of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services in Zambia. We deliver high-quality, client-centered services that empower individuals and communities to make informed choices about their health.
Purpose: Working with and reporting to the MSZ PSS Channel Lead, the Provincial Mentor is a member of the Health Services Team. The main focus of this post is to
1) Ensure that CAC clinics achieve service delivery targets and fully comply with donor and government expectations;
2) Ensure high quality standards are maintained in all aspects of clinical and customer service delivery,
3) Ensure that all CAC providers are oriented in all the medical and non-medical MSI and M.o.H guidelines and protocols. Furthermore, the outreach manager is responsible for the development, uptake and adherence of the new MSZ stock policy.
The Provincial Mentor supervises all CAC MoH providers to ensure effective implementation and continual improvement of CAC service delivery in all M.o.H CAC clinics.
Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery & Mentorship
- Ensure successful delivery and expansion of CAC and FP services through public sector facilities.
- Mentor and supervise all MSZ-trained public CAC providers.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to improve provider skills and service quality.
Planning & Reporting
- Prepare and update client tracking profiles for CAC and FP.
- Develop monthly work plans and accomplishment reports in collaboration with facility in-charges and district CAC focal persons.
- Submit monthly reports to MSZ and ensure accurate data entry into HMIS.
- Validate data before submission to MoH and MSZ.
Clinical Standards & Client Care
- Ensure adherence to MSI/MoH clinical protocols, infection prevention, and governance standards.
- Support facilities to maintain stock levels and prevent commodity stock-outs.
- Promote high-quality service delivery, client rights, and satisfaction.
Systems Strengthening
- Coordinate with districts and facilities to mobilize communities and promote CAC/FP awareness.
- Establish partnerships with community health stakeholders and champions.
- Conduct routine follow-ups, supportive visits, and audits on service delivery, stock management, and record accuracy.
- Enforce compliance with supply chain and stock management requirements.
Leadership & Development
- Support facility staff in mobilizing and promoting CAC/FP services.
- Monitor provider performance and mentor for professional development.
- Model exemplary professional behavior in all interactions.
External Relations
- Maintain and develop partnerships with community stakeholders and health partners in line with MoH/MSZ strategies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma in Clinical Science, Nursing, or Midwifery
- Degree in Clinical Medicine or BSc Nursing (Added Advantage)
- At least 2 years post-study experience in a relevant position (Essential)
- Experience in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services, including CAC (Essential)
- Experience in managing roles (Essential)
- Work experience with Zambian Health Service and/or an NGO (Desirable)
- Excellent provider-client interaction skills (Essential)
- Fluency in written and spoken English; knowledge of one or more local languages (Essential)
- Articulate, analytical, and detail-oriented (Essential)
- Knowledge of Zambia’s health delivery system (Desirable)
Other Requirements:
- Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license with at least two (2) years of driving experience. (Essential).
