JOB TITLE: Company Driver
Location: Lusaka, Lilayi, Zambia
Employment Type: Full-Time, short-term 6 months contract
Reporting To: Finance & Administration Assistant
Job Purpose
To provide safe, efficient, and reliable driving services for the organisation by transporting
staff, clients, goods, and documents, while ensuring that the organisation's vehicles are properly
maintained and operated in accordance with Zambian traffic laws and organisational
policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
● Drive organisation vehicles safely and responsibly in compliance with the Road
Traffic Act and company regulations.
● Transport staff, clients, goods, and documents as assigned.
● Ensure punctuality and efficiency in all assigned trips.
● Conduct daily vehicle checks and ensure cleanliness and roadworthiness.
● Report mechanical faults, accidents, or incidents promptly to management.
● Ensure vehicle insurance, road tax, and fitness certificates are valid and carried in
the vehicle.
● Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and trip logs.
● Assist with the loading and unloading of goods when required.
● Always observe confidentiality and professionalism.
● Perform any other lawful duties assigned by management in line with the
Employment Code Act
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
● Grade Twelve (12) Certificate
● Valid Zambian Driver’s Licence (Class B or higher)
● Minimum of three (3) years’ proven experience as a company or commercial driver
● Good knowledge of Lusaka and major routes within Zambia
● Clean driving record with no serious traffic offenses
Skills and Competencies
● Strong knowledge of road safety regulations
● High level of honesty, reliability, and integrity
● Good communication skills in English (local languages are an added advantage)
● Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
● Good time management and interpersonal skills
Employment Terms and Conditions
● Employment subject to a probation period in accordance with Zambian labour law
● Working hours as prescribed under the Employment Code Act, with overtime payable
where applicable.
● Leave entitlement in line with statutory requirements (annual, sick, and public
holidays)
● Remuneration and benefits as per company policy and Zambian labour laws
● The Employment Code Act shall govern disciplinary and termination procedures.
