Academic Qualifications
- School Certificate with a minimum of five (5) O-Level credits, including Mathematics, English, Science, and any other two subjects.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Laboratory Technology, Applied Sciences, or a related science field.
- Certification in laboratory safety and chemical handling will be an added advantage.
Technical Competencies
- Ability to prepare and set up Chemistry, Physics, and Biology practical experiments.
- Competence in handling laboratory reagents, chemicals, specimens, and apparatus.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment calibration, maintenance, and proper storage.
- Experience in preparing solutions, reagents, and biological samples.
- Ability to manage laboratory inventories and procurement records.
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Safety and Compliance
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety procedures, waste disposal, and risk assessment.
- Ability to enforce safety regulations during practical sessions.
- Familiarity with environmental and occupational health standards.
- Member of a professional body if necessary
Professional Skills
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with academic staff.
- Computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
- Willingness to support research projects and student experiments.
