The financial manager is responsible for overseeing the financial health, control systems, and reporting integrity of crusher plant operations in Zambia. The role ensures cost efficiency, strong internal controls, compliance with statutory regulations, and accurate financial reporting while bridging plant operations with corporate financial strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with ZRA and IFRS.
- Manage statutory filings (VAT, PAYE, withholding tax, corporate tax).
- Coordinate audits.
2. Reconciliation & Financial Controls
- Perform bank, supplier, customer, and inventory reconciliations.
- Investigate discrepancies and maintain internal controls.
3. Cost Management & Operational Control
- Monitor fuel, maintenance, and labour costs.
- Track cost per ton and improve efficiency.
4. Budgeting, Forecasting & Business Performance
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
- Conduct variance analysis.
5. Business Process & Log Management
- Maintain production, fuel, equipment, and dispatch logs.
- Ensure alignment between operational and financial data.
6. Asset & Capital Expenditure Management
- Manage plant assets and depreciation.
- Evaluate capital investments.
7. Cash Flow & Inventory Management
- Ensure liquidity and manage inventory.
- Conduct stock counts and control losses.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
- ACCA/CIMA/ZICA preferred
- MBA is an advantage
Experience:
- 8+ years finance experience (Preferably in quarry/mining/construction)
Skills:
- Accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, ERP), Advanced MS Excel & Strong analytical skills
