An Agribusiness Operation in Mkushi is looking for a Cost Accountant to be responsible for performing cost analyses and preparing budget reports and manage cost information to maximize profitability for our company.

Title: Cost Accountant (1) – M’kushi Farm Block
Reporting to: Finance Manager
Summary of Key Responsibilities
· Performing cost control activities through, developing and analysing cost standards, implementing loss prevention programs to prevent theft and preparing audit reports and presenting their findings to management
· Recommending changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
· Prepare budgets and financial data related to the production of crops after every cycle in conjunction with the production team for summer and winter crops, and carry out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis
· Compare production volume of the farm with neighboring farms and the region
· Performing account reconciliations for inventory and accounts payable and reporting discrepancies in inventory that indicate theft, such as too little inventory at last count
· Updating inventory count and maintaining inventory records to share with management and other stakeholders in the business
· Ensure subordinates meet both the performance standards and targets by conducting performance planning and review of subordinates
To be considered you will need to have:
Minimum of Diploma in Accounting, Finance or relevant study, member of a professional body such as CIMA, ACCA, mandatory member of ZICA, School certificate with at least 5 O’levels credit or better
Work Experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant or similar role for at least 3 years, Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures, In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Experience with accounting software, like Pastel and ERP, Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
