Nkhuni Farm is a growing commercial poultry operation focused on egg production for the Zambian market. We are seeking a highly experienced and disciplined Poultry Manager (Layers) to take full responsibility for managing and optimizing our layer operations.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all daily layer operations including feeding, production, and bird welfare
Drive egg production efficiency, quality, and consistency
Monitor and manage key performance indicators (mortality, feed intake, laying rate)
Enforce strict biosecurity and vaccination programs
Supervise and manage farm staff with discipline and accountability
Control feed usage, reduce wastage, and manage stock levels
Maintain accurate production records and reporting systems
Ensure all farm systems, procedures, and standards are consistently followed

Requirements

Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in commercial layer farm management

Proven experience managing large-scale layer operations (high bird capacity)

Strong leadership and team management skills

Deep understanding of layer performance, nutrition, and health management

Experience working in structured, performance-driven environments

Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision

Strong reporting, planning, and organizational skills

Must be willing and able to reside on-site at a remote, off-grid farm location

Comfortable staying on the farm for extended periods with limited access to urban amenities

Able to work in a hands-on, demanding environment with long hours when required
