Thorntree River Lodge, a safari destination nestled on the river banks of mighty Zambezi river in the Mosi-Oa Tunya National Park, is seeking an experienced and passionate individual to come on board and join our dynamic team in the capacity of Electrician. This is an exceptional opportunity to work in one of Africa’s most pristine and remote wilderness areas, delivering unforgettable experiences to our local international guests.
Position : Electrician
Reporting to : Head of Maintenance
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures around the Camp
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
- Diagnose electrical faults and carry out timely repairs.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Assist in minimizing downtime by responding promptly to breakdowns
- Constantly check on the Genset, electric fence, geysers, radios and other electric installations, ensuring they are in working order
- • Perform daily duties and follow up on maintenance work as instructed by the Head of Maintenance.
Requirements:
- Full grade 12 certificate
- Craft Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 2–3 years relevant work experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams
- Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) .
