SAFETY ENGINEERS (2 POSITIONS)
China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, under the TAZARA project, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the positions of Safety Engineer.
Duty Stations
· Mpika, Zambia – 1 Position
· Kapiri Mposhi, Zambia – 1 Position
Job Purpose
To oversee and enforce occupational health and safety standards at project sites and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures under TAZARA operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Implement and monitor workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
· Conduct routine site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
· Ensure compliance with company safety standards and statutory regulations.
· Investigate accidents, incidents, and unsafe practices and prepare detailed reports.
· Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training programs.
· Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
· Recommend corrective and preventive safety measures.
· Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
· Promote a strong safety culture at all project sites.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
· Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
· Minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience in construction, railway, mining, or heavy industrial projects.
· Must possess a valid Safety Certificate from a recognised institution or professional body.
· Knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and construction safety standards.
· Strong communication, leadership, and report-writing skills.
