About the Company and Role:
Our client Cleanergy is looking for a Head of LPG Distribution to join their team. At Cleanergy, they are working to make clean cooking energy accessible, affordable, and reliable. Across Zambia, many households and businesses still rely on charcoal and firewood, with significant impacts on health, cost, and the environment.Through their LPG distribution model, they are building a system that ensures gas is consistently available where it is needed, at the right price.
As they are entering a critical growth phase, they are looking for a leader who can translate strategy into execution. The Head of LPG Distribution will lead this next phase, taking responsibility for driving LPG sales volumes, managing a network of dealers and commercial customers, and ensuring reliable supply across the market. This role offers the opportunity to build and scale a distribution business from the ground up,
with clear targets and real ownership of results. You will be part of a close-knit, collaborative

Key Responsibilities:
- Own the commercial and operational performance of the LPG distribution business, including volume growth, dealer network performance, and execution
- Build and manage a network of dealers and commercial customers to drive consistent demand and repeat purchasing behaviour
- Develop and implement commercially sound pricing structures and margins while maintaining strong relationships across the network
- Drive LPG sales volumes in line with agreed targets, focusing on high-volume commercial and reseller segments
- Oversee inventory planning and stock management, maintaining optimal LPG levels while ensuring disciplined use of working capital
- Align LPG purchasing with sales and cash inflows to support sustainable growth
- Ensure cylinder availability across the network by identifying and resolving constraints and supporting effective circulation
- Manage logistics and distribution to ensure efficient product movement, reliable delivery, and cost-effective operations
- Monitor performance under the agreement, ensuring targets are met and reporting clearly on commercial and operational results
How Success will be Measured:
Success will be defined by consistent growth in LPG sales volumes and achievement of agreed
targets. The strength of the dealer network will be reflected in active participation and repeat
purchasing behaviour. Operational performance will be measured through consistent product
availability, efficient inventory management, and reliable distribution.
Financial performance will be assessed through effective working capital and cashflow
management, ensuring the business scales sustainably.
Skills and Competencies:
- Independent thinker who challenges conventional approaches, and is willing to try new ways of doing things in order to drive better results.
- Experience in high-volume, distribution-driven environments who understands how to move products through a network.
- 5–10 years of experience in FMCG, telecom, distribution, beverage, fuel, or logistics, with a proven track record in managing sales targets and dealer or agent networks.
- Commercially aware and operationally disciplined, comfortable managing inventory, logistics, and day-to-day execution while using data to track performance and make decisions. You are organised, results-driven, and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Most importantly, hands-on, willing to engage at the ground level, and take ownership of outcomes.
