Zed Speak is a new and growing cultural experiences, storytelling and heritage venture dedicated to helping people experience, preserve and reimagine Zambian culture in meaningful and contemporary ways.

Role Overview
Zed Speak is looking for a passionate, creative and curious individual to join our team as a Content, Culture & Community Intern. (Part-Time | Hybrid | 3-Month Internship)
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys storytelling, creating content, engaging with people, exploring culture and sharing meaningful stories through social media, photography and video. You do not need a degree, formal qualifications or previous work experience to apply. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, creativity, initiative and a genuine interest in culture, community and storytelling.
As a Content, Culture & Community Intern, you will help Zed Speak discover, document and share the people, places, stories and experiences that make Zambian culture unique. Working closely with the Founder, you will support content creation, cultural storytelling, community engagement and research while helping to grow and strengthen the Zed Speak community both online and offline.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation
· Create content for Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.
· Design simple graphics using Canva.
· Create short-form video content using Canva, CapCut or similar tools.
· Take photos and videos using a smartphone.
· Assist with content planning and scheduling.
· Organise and maintain content files and folders.
Cultural Storytelling
· Conduct interviews with community members, creatives and cultural practitioners.
· Collect stories, memories and cultural experiences.
· Document proverbs, traditions and heritage stories.
· Support the development of storytelling content for social media and other platforms.
· Identify interesting cultural topics and stories to feature.
Community Engagement
· Support engagement across social media platforms.
· Monitor comments and messages.
· Encourage participation in discussions and campaigns.
· Help build an active and engaged online community.
Research & Discovery
· Identify creators, artists, storytellers and cultural practitioners.
· Research cultural spaces, traditions and community initiatives.
· Discover interesting cultural stories and trends.
· Support the development of a growing database of cultural creators, organisations and opportunities.
Content Collection
The intern may be required to collect stories, photos and video content by visiting locations such as:
· Markets
· Community spaces
· Universities
· Cultural centres
· Creative hubs
· Tourism and heritage sites
· Artisan and craft spaces
Requirements
No formal qualifications are required.
We are looking for someone who:
· Has a passion for culture and community.
· Enjoys storytelling and meeting people.
· Is creative and curious.
· Is comfortable using social media platform like TikTok, Instagram and Facebook
· Has basic smartphone photography and video skills.
· Is willing to learn Canva, CapCut and other content creation tools.
· Can communicate confidently and respectfully with different people.
· Is reliable and able to work independently.
Students, recent school leavers, aspiring content creators and self-taught creatives are encouraged to apply.
Working Arrangement: Remote with some field work
Expected commitment:
· Approximately 15–20 hours per week.
· Flexible schedule based on agreed activities and deliverables.
· Weekly check-in meeting with the Founder.
· Some field visits may be required during weekdays or weekends.
