Position Overview
A reputable lime processing company is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Crane Operator.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate mobile cranes safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures and statutory requirements.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance checks on cranes and associated lifting equipment.
- Lift, move, position, and place materials, equipment, and machinery as directed.
- Ensure all lifting activities are carried out in compliance with approved lifting plans and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with riggers, supervisors, and other personnel during lifting operations.
- Report equipment defects, incidents, and unsafe conditions promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of crane inspections, operations, and maintenance activities.
- Adhere to all company health, safety, and environmental policies.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Valid Crane Operator Certificate/License from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years' proven experience operating mobile cranes in a mining, construction, or industrial environment.
- Sound knowledge of lifting procedures, load charts, and crane safety regulations.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and in demanding environments.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A valid driver's licence will be an added advantage.
