About the Project
China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) is implementing the TAZARA Rehabilitation Project in Mpika, Zambia. We are seeking a qualified, motivated, and experienced Human Resource Officer to join our project team and support the effective management of human resources in a dynamic construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Coordinate recruitment, selection, onboarding, and induction of project employees.
· Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with company policies and Zambian labour laws.
· Process employment contracts, staff movements, and employee documentation.
· Monitor employee attendance, leave administration, and disciplinary procedures.
· Support payroll preparation by maintaining accurate HR records and timesheets.
· Facilitate staff training, performance management, and employee development initiatives.
· Promote positive employee relations and resolve workplace grievances professionally.
· Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements related to human resource management.
· Prepare HR reports and maintain confidential personnel records.
· Liaise with government agencies and other relevant stakeholders on labour and employment matters as required.
Qualifications and Experience
· Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
· Professional membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM).
· Minimum of 3 years' relevant HR experience, preferably in the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sector.
· Good knowledge of the Zambian Employment Code Act and other applicable labour legislation.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
· Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced project environment.
· High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
