An established farming company based in Ndola.

An established company based in Ndola was established to undertake transformative Agriculture and livestock investments that include sustainable agricultural activities that contribute to social and economic development of the rural communities, and the national economy by embracing the government policy of agricultural diversification. The Company is embarking on an expansion project of its operations and seeks to employ eligible and suitably qualified Zambian candidates for the following positions;

PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

The Project Accountant shall be responsible for providing efficient and timely financial accounting reporting. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Department; be responsible for the Company’s Accounting and Financial Management.

Job Purpose

  • Making payments for approval
  • Management of accounts payable and Receivable and fixed asset register
  • Computation of statutory returns such as NAPSA, PAYE, Provisional and Annual Tax returns and reconciling of all these accounts
  • Plan, develop, introduce and manage financial systems to support the operations of the Company in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Monthly Stocktaking monitoring and investigation of stock variances and including the supervising/authorization of purchases
  • Payroll preparation and payments reconciliation with the general ledger
  • Preparation of management accounts and analysis of financial information
  • Bank reconciliation of accounts, cash and petty cash management
  • Cash flow projection, budgeting and budgetary control and variance analysis
  • Establishment of all internal control system and ensuring they are implemented and adhered to at all times.
  • Vehicle maintenance and fuel monitoring i.e. log books, fuels
  • And dealing with all human resources and administrative issues
  • Advising management on all financial matters

Skills and Competencies

  • Professional Qualification such as ACCA/CIMA/ZICA or a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
  • Member of Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountant.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Sound understanding and experience of the principles and practice in accounting
  • Honest and trustworthy
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Proven ability to deliver results.
  • Proficient in relevant Accounting Packages/Software and Microsoft office applications
