FutureLearn is an exciting new development providing free educational courses, content, resources. Following on from the success of US mass online open courses (MOOC) providers edX and Coursera, FutureLearn brings together universities from the UK to provide free educational courses, content and resources.
What is FutureLearn?
FutureLearn is a new company and is owned by the Open University (OU) a UK-based university that is also one of the largest universities in the world. FutureLearn brings together 21 top Universities from across the world as well as renowned institutions such as the British Council, the British Library and the British Museum. Leading universities include:

- University of East Anglia (UEA)
- The University of Edinburgh

When will the first courses start?
FutureLearn have announced that the first course list will be made available for everyone on the www.futurelearn.com site on 18 September 2013.
Will FutureLearn be open to Zambians?
FutureLearn is offering free courses and content to all learners worldwide. In July 2013, FutureLearn announced that learners from over 140 countries had already registered with FutureLearn.
