Established in 2023, Common Wellbeing is a local NGO with a mission to improve the wellbeing of vulnerable Zambian communities through community health and sustainable development initiatives. Common Wellbeing carries out its mission by providing grants, implementing projects, and sharing our learnings with others.

We are looking for individuals to join our small but growing team who are passionate about community health and sustainable development and who want to make a positive impact in vulnerable Zambian communities.

We are looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Executive / Personal Assistant to the Executive Director.

Duties

  • Accompany Executive Director in day-to-day activities including while traveling
  • Run errands including ordering, purchasing, delivering, etc
  • Manage calendar and prepare meeting agendas
  • Take detailed notes, manage documents, and complete expense reports
  • Arrange travel plans including itineraries, transportation, and accommodation
  • Respond to phone calls and emails
  • Provide interpretation and translation of one or more Zambian languages

Skills

  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills
  • Excellent writing ability
  • Tech savvy (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, email, calendar management)
  • Drivers license and driving experience (please note in application)

  • Has a strong interest in community health and/or sustainable development and passion for helping others
  • Is trustworthy and honest
  • Is self motivated, proactive, and hard-working
  • Is a team-player with positive attitude
  • Is willing to travel to and work in remote areas of the country for up to a week at a time
  • Is willing to work in flexible working environment (up to 50% outside the office)

Qualifications

  • Diploma minimum; Degree preferred
  • Relevant work experience, preferably with an NGO or reputable organization, an added advantage
