Job description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Must be able to run maintenance works in the workshop and pit area, ensuring all parts and materials are available.
  • Searches and sorts through the CMMS backlog to ensure all identified backlog work is included in the scheduled planned work.
  • Monitor warehouse stock levels and Prioritize tasks when planning corrective and Preventive maintenance works
  • Organizes all resources required to execute the maintenance, including in-house labour, contractors, tech support, rental equipment, specialty tools, consumables, etc.
  • Identifies any potential consumable materials issues and works with supply chain to ensure everything required is on site prior to maintenance work.
  • Ensure all planned works are done and closed out in the CMMS system.
  • Understands and complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate team to ensure all safety compliance targets are met.
  • Ensure all legal appointments in the section are done in the Mining regulation logbook.
  • Other duties as given by Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 12 Certificate
  • A minimum of a Technician certificate in Heavy Equipment Repair (A Degree in Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage)
  • Valid Driving License class B manual or better
  • Holder of current Valid EIZ membership
  • Registered Engineer with Engineering Registration Board ERB
  • Ability to hold a MR207 or 210(1b) Appointment.

Experience

  • Ability to read and understand mechanical detail drawings, technical instructions manuals, parts books.
  • 5 or more years’ experience in Mobile Maintenance and H.E.R
  • Ability to Generate and use Reports made in Power BI.
  • Ability to Prepare Project Plans and Monitor Progress.
  • Demonstrable Experience leading Teams of Artisans and Technicians in maintenance works.
  • Ability to understand and interpret oil laboratory analysis results.
  • Experience in Condition based Maintenance.
  • knowledge of Microsoft Office products including MS Projects and CMMS software such as PRONTO.
  • Self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in performing RCFAs and ICAMs.
  • Experience with Leadership training programs will be an added advantage.
  • Experience with Komatsu (Graders, dozers, Loaders) and Liebherr (dozers) will be an added advantage.
