National Prosecution Authority (NPA)

Driver, Salary Scale NPA/9 – One (01) Position

Reports to: Executive Officer
Duty Station: NPA Headquarters

Main Job Purpose:

To drive vehicles in order to facilitate mobility of officers, materials and equipment for the Authority.

Specific Duties:

a) Inspects the assigned vehicles daily or before undertaking any trip, checking tyre pressure oil and water levels, indicators to confirm roadworthiness of the vehicle.
b) Drives the assigned vehicle to destination as instructed by the supervisor in order to transport staff, goods, materials, parcels, mail while observing traffic rules and regulations.
c) Ensures regular servicing of the assigned vehicle by reporting to supervisor the due service date/mileage.
d) Ensures trip authorization by maintaining a vehicle log book and securing authorizations.
e) Reports to the police and supervisor any accident involving assigned NPA vehicle, following the NPA’s reporting procedure.
f) Reports all faults’ detected on the assigned vehicle to the supervisor for corrective action.
g) Parks the assigned vehicle in a safe and authorized place in order to avoid tampering or theft.
h) Cleans the assigned vehicle by washing, dusting, vacuuming and polishing as necessary to ensure cleanliness.
i) Adheres to the NPA rules relating to use of NPA vehicles, authorized trips and passengers in order to safeguard NPA’s interest.

Qualifications and Work Experience

a) Grade 12 School Certificate
b) SADC Driver’s Licence, trade test and GRZ Competence
c) Two (2) Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience

Skills and Other Attributes

a) Able to write reports
b) Able to communicate effectively in English
