Lubambe Copper Mine

BACKGROUND

Lubambe Copper Mine is located within the Greater Konkola Area of the Zambia Copperbelt and consists of a large —scale mining license covering an area of approximately 240 square kilometers. The mine is a modern, world class facility with fully mechanized underground operations.

Lubambe Copper Mine is owned by EMR Capital of Australia (80%) and ZCCM — Investments Holdings (20%).

The Mine is currently in a ramp up stage and will ultimately produce 45,000 tonnes of contained copper and will employ approximately 1,500 people. The Plant infrastructure consist of a Concentrator plant, a laboratory and underground infrastructure. The Concentrator incorporates crushing, milling, floatation and filtration. The design capacity is 2.5 MT PA of ore at an average mill grade of 2.3% copper, yielding 45,000 tonnes of contained copper in concentrate to be sold to smelters in Zambia.

Inventory Officers – 2 Positions

Role Overview:

The Inventory Officer will be responsible for ensuring integrity of inventory figures, ensure right quantities and correctly binned values tally between physical stock and system figures. This position works closely with the Procurement and Warehousing sections to ensure that the agreed to service level of the Main Warehouse to its customers is consistently attained. The Inventory Officer acts as an internal auditor, who must highlight any inabilities or discrepancies rather than discovering when the customer comes to collect items for use.

Accountabilities

  • Undertaking cyclic stock counts.
  • Play an active role in organizing and participating in periodical and/or year end stock audits.
  • Investigate variances between physical stock and system figures.
  • Advise Warehouse regarding storage to ensure optimum usage of space.
  • Advise Management on safe storage for high risk and/or attractive items.
  • Raise red flags on inventory shortages.
  • Prepare weekly re-order reports with the supervision of the Inventory Controller.
  • Contribute to the revision of minimum and maximum system stock levels by referring to consumption patterns.
  • Review repetitive purchase requisitions and recommend for item coding.
  • Drive the execution of requests for new stock item creation.
  • Any other duties related to the post as deemed appropriate by the Materials Superintendent.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain related field, or min 5 years work experience in such a role.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Fluent and excellent oral and written communication skills in English required.
  • Computer proficiency in Excel and MS word.
  • Member of ZIPS.
