DATA & ANALYTICS LEAD

Yalelo seeks to hire an experienced and eager Data & Analytics (D&A) Lead to drive database building & implementation, data collection, and analytics at our Production site. You will join an innovative, cross-departmental team working to improve data processes and utilization across the company to drive our growth. You will be responsible for managing a team of four Data Administrators and Clerks, building systems from scratch, optimizing existing ones, and creating visibility into the Production operations datasets. You will be a key team member in leading D&A’s efforts to encourage a culture of data-driven decision-making at our Production site.

Location: The role will be primarily based in Siavonga.

The Right Fit candidate will:

• Manage a team of Data Clerks and Data Administrators
• Maintain oversight of the production of all daily, weekly, and monthly reporting
• Manage & improve existing databases & reports (including identifying where improvements can be made)
• Building reporting dashboards as per team requests (including building the underlying databases, training the teams to use them, tailoring reports in line with requestor requirements, updating the design of reports)
• Implement new databases based on operation systems (including identifying where data collection can be improved and automated. Also collaborating closely with teams to ensure quality data collection)
• Conduct analysis as per request from Production Director or managers

The Data & Analytics Lead Must Have:

• The motivation to undertake a high-impact, high-intensity role in a growing company
• Enthusiasm for building new systems and improving existing ones
• Excellent communication skills, working as the D&A team’s remote representative in Siavonga
• Self-initiating abilities, to manage multiple projects and people in a demanding Production environment
• The ability to adapt quickly to new systems and technologies
• Eagerness to apply new data methods to Yalelo’s aquaculture value chain

Qualifications Requirements for the D&A Lead are:

• Degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Data Science, Economics, or Finance
• 2-5 years of work experience, 2+ relating to Operations Management, Systems Building, Data Analysis or a related field.
• Experience in people and /or project management
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience working with Power BI, Microsoft Office D365, and/ or Aqua Manager will provide an added advantage
• Familiarity with IT systems and database management
• Experience in project management and report presentation to high-level management
• Experience in facilitation and training
• Comfortable working on a farm and working unsocial hours.
