 FINANCIAL LITERACY OFFICER
Location:   Rufunsa (H/Q) and travelling to all branches
Reports to:  Chief Operations Officer 
Minimum Qualification:   Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Education or related field
The Company
UMINO Community Loan Services is a private company limited by shares that provides financial services to rural parts of Zambia. UMINO is an acronym derived from ‘UMoyo wa bwINO’ which means a ‘good life’ and provides Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) loans. We pride ourselves to only provide loans based on business plans agreed with our clients and to closely train and coach them to achieve their business objectives.
Currently, UMINO is operating using a Money Lenders’ license, and is in the process of registering as a non-deposit taking Microfinance Institution (MFI) regulated by the Bank of Zambia. 
UMINO currently has more than 2000 clients across eight branches covering ten (10) districts namely, Rufunsa, Luangwa, Nyimba, Petauke, Sinda, Katete, Lundazi, Lumezi, Chadiza and Vubwi. 
Job Overview
The FINANCIAL LITERACY OFFICER will focus on designing and delivering practical and impactful training sessions, mainly to our diverse client base but also to our staff and other stakeholders. 
The person must be dynamic and an experienced trainer with prior business experience to conceptualize, implement and lead a year-long training program focused on financial literacy and business management for our staff and clients. 
Requirements
1.     Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Education or related field or higher diploma & strong experience
2.     Prior experience in a commercial setting, ideally through own entrepreneurial activity
3.     Good accounting / bookkeeping knowledge, both in formal and informal settings, and relevant tools
4.     Ideally knowledge of and experience in microfinance operations and service delivery maintenance
5.     At least 3 years of experience in a training position, preferably in microfinance, SME banking or a related industry
6.     Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
7.     Ability to understand financial concepts and simplify for diverse audiences
8.     Familiarity with adult learning principles and digital training tools
9.     Certification in training or financial education is an added advantage
Responsibility
1.     Develop and implement a comprehensive training curriculum covering:
1.1.   Personal and business financial literacy
1.2.   Budgeting, saving, and investment strategies
1.3.   Business planning and management
1.4.   Financial tools and technologies
2.     Conduct regular training sessions (in-person and/or virtual)
3.     Distil UMINO processes and external financial literacy materials into an effective training curriculum
4.     Customize training materials to suit different learning levels and business contexts
5.     Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through feedback and performance metrics
6.     Provide one-on-one coaching or group workshops as needed
7.     Collaborate with UMINO teams to align training with organizational goals.
8.     Become a trusted advisor to UMINO staff for all their training and pot. education needs
9.     Carrying out training tasks (projects) as assigned by COO.
Contract Terms
1.     Duration: 12 months, with the opportunity to extend to fixed position depending on performance
2.     Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience
3.     Expected Commitment: [40 hours over a 5-day week]
Reporting 
The trainer reports to the COO.
Liaison
The trainer liaises with all members of UMINO management team (CFO, IAM, HRM and ITM) and staff.
