Purpose
Family Legacy (FL) is a faith-based organization that exists to glorify God by equipping children in Zambia to live out their God-given potential. Since 2000, Family Legacy Missions Zambia (FLMZ) has been transforming the lives of vulnerable and orphaned children through three core programs: Camp Life, the Tree of Life Children’s Village, and the Legacy Academies.
The Integrated Programs Director (IPD) provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure that all Family Legacy programs are effectively designed, coordinated, and implemented in alignment with the ministry’s mission, vision, and strategic plan. The IPD ensures strong integration between education, child protection, community engagement, and discipleship components to achieve sustainable impact.
This role leads the Programs Team to deliver measurable results across all program areas, ensures program excellence, fosters innovation, strengthens partnerships, and enhances accountability to children, families, communities, and donors.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership and Program Integration 25%
- Lead the development and implementation of an integrated programs strategy aligned with Family Legacy’s five-year strategic plan.
- Ensure strong linkages between Camp Life, Tree of Life, and Legacy Academies for holistic child development.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance to program teams to strengthen program quality and coherence.
- Drive program innovation and adaptive management informed by evidence, data, and best practices.
2. Program Planning, Implementation and Monitoring 20%
- Oversee annual and quarterly work planning across all programs, ensuring clear targets, indicators, and resource alignment.
- Monitor program performance, progress, and budget utilization, ensuring timely corrective actions.
- Lead regular program performance reviews and promote a culture of results-based management.
- Support field teams to ensure timely and high-quality implementation of activities.
3. Capacity Building and Team Leadership 10%
- Supervise and mentor Program Managers, ensuring clarity of roles, accountability, and professional growth.
- Strengthen team capacity through coaching, learning sessions, and performance management
- Build a Christ-centered, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
4. Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement 10%
- Cultivate strong partnerships with government ministries, community leaders, donors, and other NGOs.
- Represent Family Legacy in strategic forums and program coordination platforms.
- Lead engagement with Family Legacy Missions International (FLMI) for alignment and technical collaboration.
5. Program Design and Resource Mobilization 10%
- Contribute to the design of new programs and proposals in line with identified needs and strategic priorities.
- Support Local Resource Mobilization and ensure donor compliance in program execution.
• Provide technical input to concept notes and project proposals.
6. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) 10%
- Ensure integration of MEAL systems across all programs for evidence-based decision-making.
- Promote data-driven learning, program adaptation, and reporting to leadership and donors.
- Ensure program outcomes and impact are consistently measured and documented.
7. Financial and Operational Stewardship 10%
- Oversee program budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness and accountability for all expenditures.
- Collaborate with Finance and Procurement teams to ensure compliance with organizational and donor policies.
- • Promote Biblical stewardship and prudent use of resources.
8. Child Protection and Safeguarding 5%
- Ensure all program activities comply with Family Legacy’s Child Protection Policy and Code of Conduct.
- Strengthen systems to prevent and respond to child protection risks across programs.
- Promote a child-safe culture across all program operations.
Qualifications
Education:
- Master’s degree in Development Studies, Education, Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is required.
Experience:
- Minimum of five years’ progressive experience in program management, preferably in a faith-based or child-focused NGO.
- Proven experience in leading multi-sectoral and integrated programs (education, child protection, livelihoods, or health).
- Demonstrated success in strategic leadership, planning, and results-based management.
- Experience in budget management, donor compliance, and team supervision.
- Experience working in Zambia or sub-Saharan Africa preferred.
