JOB PURPOSE
UNO Energies Zambia Limited is looking for an Accountant to join the team.
The Successful candidate will oversee daily financial operations, manage financial reporting and ensure accurate record-keeping related to the company’s operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger activities.
- Payroll Administration and Verification
- Oversee invoice processing, payments, and receipts, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and completed on time.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to provide financial guidance, resolve discrepancies, and support operational decision-making.
- Assist in the implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of financial systems, procedures and internal controls.
- Support external audit processes by preparing required documentation, addressing audit queries and ensuring compliance with audit standards.
- Ensure accurate data reporting in line with accounting standards, regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
- Manage and process statutory payments i.e. VAT & Withholding Tax,NAPSA, NHIMA, Workers Compensation.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Computer literate with working knowledge of accounting package. Knowledge of TALLY system will be an added advantage.
- Excellent planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Analytical skills
- Understanding of Accounting principles
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 credits.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent professional qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years relevant working experience preferably in the OMC Industry.
- Must be a member of ZICA
- Strong knowledge of Zambian tax laws
