Zambia Land Alliance (ZLA) is a network of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) advocating for pro-poor land policies, laws and systems in Zambia. ZLA in partnership with Paralegal Alliance Network (PAN) and Transparency International Zambia (TI-Z) will be implementing a three (3) project funded by the European Union (EU). The project, titled 'Strengthening the Role of CSOs and Citizens in Promoting Good Land Governance,' will be implemented in the North-western Province (Kalumbila and Mufumbwe districts), Central Province (Mkushi and Serenje districts), and Luapula Province (Mansa and Kawambwa districts). ZLA is therefore soliciting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to take up three positions of Provincial Project Coordinator (PPC), reporting to the Project Manager. The PPCwill be based in Mansa, Serenje, or Solwezi districts, with frequent travel to project target districts in the respective provinces.
1. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with relevant district and provincial stakeholders.
- Provide technical support to district project staff and district CSOs in the implementation of project activities.
- Participate in policy advocacy and lobbying efforts at the district and provincial levels.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including deliverables, budgets and work plans at the provincial level.
- Track project progress and serve as the main point of contact for project updates at provincial level, ensuring delivery to agreed quality, cost, and time standards.
- Support provincial-level learning and adaptive project management through evidence and feedback.
- Submit provincial financial and narrative reports to the Project Manager.
- Ensure integrity, transparency and compliance with ZLA and EU guidelines at the provincial level.
- Undertake monitoring and support visits to target districts.
- Identify and support fundraising efforts for scaling up/extension.
2. Skills, Qualifications and Experience
A suitable candidate for this position must possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A university degree in Environmental management, Environmental law, project management, development studies or its equivalent.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in project management, preferably environmental or land rights-related projects.
- Experience in capacity development for CSOs.
- High degree of initiative, flexibility and creativity
- Willingness to travel outside duty station
- Experience working with the private sector and government partners (preferred).
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in managing multi-district projects.
